We assembled and installed this Backyard Discovery Tanglewood Playset in Reading, MA

We were happy to see the wood roof over the main portion of this set.  However, the section over the picnic table should only last a few seasons.

The wood on these playsets is referred to as “cedar” which is true in part.  it is called “Chinese Cedar”.  However, it really is not a cedar at all but rather a Cypress (Cunninghamia Lanceolata) See CHINESE CEDAR • FAQ. It is a very fast growing wood and is a major export from China.
